In an effort to fight against COVID-19, Covenant has adopted a Solaris Lytbot. The ultraviolet light kills germs on surfaces that can sometimes be missed by manual cleaning. Stepping up disinfection efforts is a huge part of preventing the spread of viral pathogens like SARS-CoV-2.
“It’s impossible to get things 100 percent so that’s where the UV light comes in and makes the difference.” says Kelly Flippen, Director of Environmental Services at Covenant Health.
If a patient tests positive for COVID-19, the machine is run as soon as they are discharged. They also focus it in the stem cell area of the hospital, to protect the immunocompromised patients.
